Sunshine Breakfast Smoothie
In the mornings, I’m often pulling out my vitaMix and whipping up a yummy smoothie for my breakfast. It’s a great convenient way of getting a nourishing vitamin and amino acid hit before I head off to work.
When making smoothies, use the whole fruit or vegetable and blend them up in a good high powered blender. Fresh fruits and veggies contain large amounts of soluble and insoluble fiber which will fill you up, decrease your appetite for hours, help keep blood sugars stable and keep you regular. What I love about making my own smoothies is that I know I get maximum nutrition and fiber from the whole fresh fruits and veggies and they are easily absorbed into the body.

What it’s good for:
The orange is a great source of vitamin C and flavonoids to help protect your immune system. The apple is high in fibre to help keep you full and for gut health. Pineapple is high in bromelain to help with digestion and assiumulation of the nutrients you are eating. Linseed is full of omega 3 to help lower cholesterol and for brain health. The yoghurt adds extra protein and probiotics for a healthy immune system and to repair muscle.
