How To Stay Healthy, Fit + Strong

Article title image

A healthy body begins with a healthy immune system. It maintains homoeostasis by defending against viruses and bacteria, which can cause inflammation, illness and disease.

When I’m a little stressed and run down, my immune system gets a little hammered, so I make a conscious effort to avoid getting sick with immune boosting foods and nutrients I need to stay fit, stay healthy and keep my immune system strong.

WHY YOU NEED PROTEIN FOR IMMUNE HEALTH

To have a strong immune system your body needs a daily supply of quality protein. Research studies have shown that deficiency of high-quality protein can result in depletion of immune cells, inability of the body to make antibodies, and other immune-related problems. Even marginally low protein intake may impair immune function. One small study in women showed following a low-protein diet for nine weeks significantly reduced their immune response.

Healthy Chef Protein is high in the essential amino acid cystine, which is essential in the production of the body’s master antioxidant glutathione. Studies show that glutathione is vital for boosting immune function, eliminating free radicals from our body and protecting us from everyday environmental pollutants.
