How To Have Chocolate For Breakfast

Article title image

While chocolate is often eaten as a treat or for dessert, I love how you can actually have chocolate for breakfast, too! Yes I'm a bit of a chocaholic and love to submit my taste buds to some chocolate therapy any time of day.  I love using ingredients such as my Naked Chocolat Mylk because you’re getting a dose of antioxidants, minerals and health-promoting compounds that just taste delicious.

So if you’re craving for something healthy and chocolatey, this super easy protein-packed chocolate breakfast bowl ticks all the boxes and is a purely delicious way to start your day.

This potent bowl of goodness provides sustained energy, supports your immune system and contributes to hormonal balance and overall wellbeing. Plus, it tastes just like a decadent chocolate dessert.

What I love most about this recipe – apart for the magic of using just four ingredients - is that it requires nothing but a blender. Just mix and enjoy!

WHAT’S GREAT ABOUT IT:

Healthy Chef Naked Chocolat - Bursting with antioxidants and powerful superfoods, Healthy Chef Naked Chocolat is made from mineral rich cacao, maca, carob, cinnamon and wild crafted Tahitian vanilla bean. This means it’s gluten-free, dairy-free and free of any added sugars. Cacao, in particular, is rich in magnesium, iron, copper, manganese, riboflavin and essential micronutrients that assist in supporting overall health. The high flavenoid content of cacao has been scientifically linked to a reduced risk of heart disease, stroke and diabetes. Adding to its list of benefits, is its theobromine content, which is known to boost endorphins and increase mental alertness.

Bananas - A terrific energy food and a great source of potassium, which is an essential mineral for maintaining normal blood pressure and heart function. They are also a source of chromium, which is a trace mineral involved in carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism. Using frozen bananas also makes this recipe absolutely creamy, smooth and decadent.

Healthy Chef protein - I vary between using WPI protein that contains naturally occurring digestive enzymes making it lactose free, so it can be enjoyed by people who have an intolerance to lactose. It's also scented with organic vanilla and cocoa that taste amazing. I also like using my vegan based Organic Pea Protein that scented with organic cacao and organic vanilla bean.  It's a little thicker than the WPI and the main difference is that one is vegan and the other is not.

Avocados - This buttery fruit is rich in mono-unsaturated fats that have compounds to protect against inflammation and cancer. They’re loaded with antioxidants lutein, vitamin E and beta-carotene and can promote blood sugar reduction and support cardiovascular, digestive and skin health. Avocados are great this time of year and being rich in the good fats, eating them will help nourish healthy skin and help it glow.
