Chocolate Smoothie

If you want super power packed nutrition – then you need to try my chocolate smoothie.  This makes a delicious healthy snack or light meal that’s perfect when you want to indulge in a little chocolate therapy. The addition of frozen chopped banana makes it smooth and creamy and I sometimes throw in other fruits that compliment and add extra nutrition such as frozen blueberries.

What it’s good for:
Cocoa is high in the antioxidants A C and E and magnesium that can help boost your immune system.  Banana is a great source of potassium which helps to regulate fluid balance in the body and necessary for nerve and muscle contraction, it also provides quality carbs to help replenish glycogen – so this smoothie is perfect pre and post workout drink. My organic superfood is loaded with antioxidants and has a purely delicious taste of wild berry that will nourish your body with vitality. It’s a great nutritional boost to support a healthy diet. Addition of flaxseed or chia seed adds fiber and omega 3 for gut and cardiovascular health.

1 large ripe banana, chopped
2 tablespoons Healthy Chef pure protein
1 tablespoon Healthy Chef superfood antioxidant
250 ml coconut water or your choice of milk (almond, rice, seed, soy, dairy )
1 heaped teaspoon cocoa or cacao powder
1 teaspoon flaxseed or chia seed
½ cup ice

Combine all the ingredients into a good high speed blender like a Vitamix.
Blend all the ingredients and enjoy immediately.

I make something very similar but with some blueberries (so great with chocolate) and maple syrup to sweeten. I also add a couple of egg yolks.

Delish! Raw cacao is even better than cocoa is it is raw and retains more nutrients. But super yummy all the same ;-)
